Christmas

Big Hedgehog and Little Hedgehog return in a new seasonal adventure, discovering new traditions in a joyful holiday story.

In their sixth adventure, Britta Teckentrup’s beloved hedgehogs step out of their winter den in search of the perfect Christmas tree.

What begins as an unadorned fir in the snowy forest, gradually transforms as friends from near and far add their own ornaments according to their varying traditions — stockings and cookies for Santa Claus, paper crowns and crackers, even a lucky pickle!

The result is both a festive tale and a story of anticipation, wonder, and the shared spirit of the season, gently affirming that, while Christmas may be celebrated in many different ways, its heart is the same everywhere.

• As the story unfolds, illustrations shift from wintry landscapes to colorful celebrations.
• Each page offers children the fun of spotting new decorations being added to the tree.
• Readers will note the subtle change to the hedgehogs as their view of the world widens.
• A wonderfully produced hardback book using premium grade paper and ink.

Our favourite hedgehogs learn about traditional and alternative traditions so that all can enjoy the winter holidays with equal cheer.
